 The Benchwarmers... The Review

Hey You Benchwarmers, This is my review on the epic film!
If you have watched it then you would realise that The Benchwarmer’s is well, putting it simply... legendary. And if you haven't watched it, well then I don't really understand why your here ;) But seriously guys, if you haven’t watched it, then what have you being doing with your life? This amazingly humorous film has been out since 2006; its now 2012... WATCH IT ALREADY :)

Now for all you dedicated benchwarmers fans, let’s get down to business!
This film has had many great reviews and response’s, it's easily understandable but still very funny humour makes it a fun family film that everyone will enjoy.

The target audience is aimed for families, there is something that everyone will enjoy, but if you had to narrow it down I would say teenage boys as it’s a comedy about baseball.

Right! Let's Break This Down.
First of all, we have the plot section.

The storyline of this film is actually quite clever, it over sees three nerds that are the underdogs of the sporting world that agree to play in a league against all the notorious bullying baseball teams in the town. The unlikely underdogs won over the hearts of the towns and taught some valuable life lessons as well as having some interesting twists and turns.

Let's get to know the characters:

Gus- Played by Rob Schneider
Gus is the main sports man of the benchwarmers, he can bat, field and bowl without inflicting injury or destruction. Gus was teased for being short and was the main reason 'The Benchwarmers' were created. He's a very loveable and genuine character, he touches the hearts of many people and teaches them what it's like to be part of a team.

Richie- Played by David Spade
Richie works at the dvd shop and is a typical nerd out looking for girls, he likes to think of himself as the cool ladies' man, but in actual fact everyone knows he's just hopeless with the ladies and a typical nerd. Despite all of that, Richie is a well-loved member of the cast, he comes out with cracking one liners and has the audience in hysterics!

Clark- Played by Jon Heder
Clark is the town's paper boy with a throwing arm from hell! His aim is shocking, but somehow he is a perfect addition to The Benchwarmers team. He is so loveable and friendly and always keeps his promises! The Benchwarmers would not be complete with Clark; he is so unaware of things around him you just can't help but laugh!

Okay, so that was the main characters... But there is more than just the main characters in this film that make it so funny and enjoyable!

Howie- Played by Nick Swardson
Well, Howie is just a legend! How can some that's afraid of the sun be so funny? He is a fully grown adult, which hides in the cupboard afraid to leave his house because 'the sun is evil'. Howie is the type of character that you watch and instantly fall in love with, he is the type of character that doesn't get old, no matter how many times you watch it.

Mel- Played by Joh Lovitz
Mel is a nerdy billionaire, who sees something very special about the benchwarmers and personally knows what it feels like to be excluded from other social groups. Mel is the man who brings the Benchwarmers to the public eye; without him the benchwarmer's success wouldn't be long lived.

Jerry- Played by Craig Kilborn
The main antagonist in the film, he was Richie and Clark's main bully when they were children and challenges them to a baseball match... The very match where the team 'benchwarmers' were created.

Liz- Played by Molly Sims
Liz is Gus's wife

Wayne- Played by Tim Meadows

 Carlos- Played by Amaury Nolasco
A professional baseball player hired to break the benchwarmers winning streak

 Karl-Played by Bill Romanowski

 Reggie Jackson- Played by himself

 Nelson- Played by Max Prado

 Troy- Played by Danny McCarthy

 Brad- Played by Sean Salisbury

 Kyle- Played by Matt Weinberg

Swimmer Boy - Played by John Farley

Steven (Poker Guy)- Played by Terry Crews

Coach Bellows- Played by Dennis Dugan

Marcus Elwood- Played by Joey Gnoffo

The characters work really well together and they show the audience that they are fighting for something they strongly believe in. The Benchwarmers team are all very unique; they all bring something different to the group. From an audience's point of view you, you can see that the Benchwarmers bond well and that they truly are friends that can depend one another. As a Film, the Benchwarmer characters help to teach the audience life lessons in friendship and how bulling and lying effects people. The characters are all very entertaining, charismatic and can really connect with the audience to create a wonderful family film.

Memorable Quotes:
